China Funeral Association Document No. 4 [2023]
To the funeral service associations and member units of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government:

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, uphold the principle of “civil affairs for the people, civil affairs serving the people,” promote the sound and sustainable development of funeral reform, and advance the intelligent, technological, and modernized development of funeral equipment and supplies, while showcasing the achievements of reform and innovation in the funeral industry, with approval from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Executive Committee of the China Funeral Association has decided to hold the Ninth China International Funeral Equipment and Supplies Expo, under the theme “Jointly Pursuing New Development, Jointly Ushering in a New Era,” from June 10 to 12, 2023, in Qingdao, Shandong Province.

The China International Funeral Equipment and Supplies Expo is a premier event in the funeral industry, fulfilling the duties and obligations set forth in the Articles of Association of the China Funeral Association. It is currently one of the most extensive and largest‑scale events hosted by the association, drawing keen attention and high expectations from the entire sector. Over the years, the expo has aligned with the overarching theme of industry development, offering a rich array of multidimensional activities—including exhibitions, product showcases, and forums for promotion and exchange—thus highlighting cutting‑edge technological advancements in funeral equipment and supplies, fostering platforms for industry dialogue, collaboration, and partnership, and attracting widespread interest and participation from domestic and international peers.

As a vital component of public welfare, successive Party and state leaders have attached great importance to the development of the funeral services sector. Particularly since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the industry has encountered unprecedented opportunities for growth. This year’s expo will fully showcase the achievements made under the leadership of the Party in advancing funeral reform to ensure that the deceased are laid to rest with dignity, while also highlighting the efforts and contributions of the funeral services sector to the preservation and transmission of China’s fine traditional culture.
